My artwork, films and installations originate from a desire to tell stories and construct environments that support these stories or propose their own narrative interpretation. In early years this led to writing prose and composing electronic music. Later, after studying cinema and eventually fine arts, my artworks became what could be typified as cinematographic, without necessarily employing film or video. Like cinema, my practice has come to embrace all imaginable media and occupy both time and space. The artworks propose a tension span and are either implicitly narrative, explicitly visual or both at once. These artworks seldom convey any explicit message or singular idea, but rather propose ways to relate to the world, how it is presented and what mechanisms and components constitute our perception and understanding of it. By dissecting things, editing, cutting up, repositioning and forcing perspective, I aspire to captivate and engage. Ultimately my artworks suggest both rational consciousness as well as associative magic thought.

“The fundament of my work and the starting point are found memories, stories, objects and unwanted items.
Through a combination of text, photography, drawing and collage, I’m interested in constructing a unique form of social sculpture that is able to travel between our interior psyche and external environments.
I’m fascinated by paradox.
In my work, the reality of our human condition is laid bare to confront the mystery of our existence.”

Nokturn is the creation of Anna Dolata, Axel Boman, Oscar Axhede, Rickard Wennergrund and Helena Ringvold. Nokturn means midnight mass and the place to hold it, is the amphitheater. Stretched shadows, suggestive sounds of the slow moving river and the dancing dreams of the present is assured as the Friday night turns to day. This secretive project holds promises no further than the alarming siren that unleashes the nightly play. Bring nothing but your ass and a will to view the amphitheater in an altogether new way. Be inclined. Be prepared.

I investigate how objects and materials re-contextualize and transform as they are moved, installed and put in relation to each other, the room and our bodies. I strive to keep materials in their own materiality and objects in their own right. With a background in the field of staged-photography, I create scenes as an interspace between the idea of an image and an installation.
collecting, organizing, building and reducing,
an attempt to achieve a boundless process.

abc123 is a collaboration between artist Kristian Berglund and his 15 year-old son Arvid, named after one of the most common passwords and a Broder Daniel song.
In his artistic practice Kristian Berglund is focusing on working as freely as possible to explore and give shape to his experience of the world. Many of his works gets their energy from the clashes between culture and nature, between language and technology. Childhood interest in early home computers mixes with a fascination for materials and craft. Works mainly with sculpture, moving images and drawing.
With abc123 Kristian and Arvid explores how they can work and create together, the project for Gagnef started with these words: summer, alice in wonderland, the woods and the city, nyancat, headache, nature, chute and chaos.
And it will turn out to be something completely different…
”Rooted in the language of painting, the practice of Ylva Ogland represents one of the most interesting attempts to build a bridge between autobiographical details and fictional fable-like elements in order to create what could be defined as “personal mythologies.” In doing so the artist explores all the facets of painting, which alphabet and grammar she has been mastering since the very early stage of her life. The result – which could be called “expanded painting” – not only encompasses traditional oil on canvas but also installations, performances and large-scale environments. Albeit contemporary and absolutely informed about its surroundings, the work of Ylva Ogland – its dark melancholia and esoteric spiritualism – represents an indisputable example of a Nordic sensibility that links her practice to figures such as Edvard Munch and Hilma af Klint but at the same time it bears traces of artists as diverse as Marcel Duchamp and Tracey Emin.”
quotation from NICOLA TREZZI ON YLVA OGLAND, 2013
